Frequently Asked Questions
About CRDI™
What is CRDI™?+
CRDI™ — Capital Readiness & Deployment Infrastructure™ — is a sovereign-grade, Intelligence-Native™, ISO-governed Capital Markets Operating System. It is an institutional operating system that governs the complete lifecycle of capital: from opportunity formation and investment readiness through qualification, syndication, deployment, governance, monitoring, and impact measurement. CRDI™ is not a startup, fintech app, marketplace, or consultancy — it is a new category of institutional infrastructure.
What do CRDI™, CRIS™, and CRRI™ mean?+
CRDI™ is the Capital Readiness & Deployment Infrastructure — the overarching operating system. CRIS™ is the Capital Readiness Intelligence System — the analytical engine that evaluates, scores, and structures projects. CRRI™ is the Capital Readiness Rating Index — a standardised A–D institutional rating that communicates a project’s investment readiness to capital providers. Together they form a complete capital preparation and deployment ecosystem.
Who does CRDI™ serve?+
CRDI™ serves the full institutional capital ecosystem: Project Sponsors seeking funding readiness; Capital Providers (DFIs, banks, funds) seeking de-risked deal flow; Advisors and Consultants delivering capital readiness mandates; Institutional Investors seeking structured opportunities; and Project Access Partners™ (Investment Promotion Agencies, Economic Development Agencies, PPP Units) aggregating project portfolios at programme scale.
What does “sovereign-grade” and “Intelligence-Native™” mean?+
Sovereign-grade means CRDI™ is engineered to meet the fiduciary, governance, and audit expectations of development finance institutions, regulatory bodies, and sovereign fund mandates — with full audit trails and governance-aligned protocols. Intelligence-Native™ means structured intelligence is embedded natively throughout the platform’s evaluation, scoring, and routing logic — expert-led and institutionally governed, supporting professional judgement rather than replacing it.
CIRA™ Readiness Assessment
What is the CIRA™ assessment?+
CIRA™ — the Capital & Institutional Readiness Assessment — is CRDI™’s front-door intelligence engine. It assesses your organisation across seven readiness pillars (Capital, Governance, Digital & Intelligence, Organisational Maturity, Skills, Market, and Partnership), generates a CRDI™ Transformation Index™ (CTI™) score from 0–100, benchmarks you against your cohort, and recommends tailored Smart Capital Academy™ learning pathways. It takes approximately 15 minutes to complete.
What is the CTI™ score and how is it calculated?+
The CRDI™ Transformation Index™ (CTI™) is a composite score from 0–100 calculated as a weighted aggregate of your seven pillar scores. The weighting adapts to your declared role — a Student, an SME Owner, and a Capital Provider are each assessed against contextually appropriate weightings. Scores map to five bands: Platinum (80–100), Gold (65–79), Silver (50–64), Bronze (35–49), and Baseline (0–34).
Is the CIRA™ assessment free? What do I receive?+
Yes, CIRA™ is free to complete. On completion you receive your CTI™ score with a full pillar breakdown, cohort benchmarking, a priority gap analysis, tailored Action Directives across three time horizons, Smart Capital Academy™ pathway recommendations, and a downloadable institutional-grade CIRA™ Readiness Report. Where your score qualifies, you may also be routed to a CRIS™ Lite diagnostic.
What happens to my assessment data?+
Your data is processed in accordance with POPIA and applicable data protection legislation, solely to generate your personalised results and pathway recommendations. Individual data is never shared with third parties without your explicit consent. Affiliation and benchmarking data may contribute to anonymised, aggregated ecosystem analytics.
Smart Capital Academy™
What is the Smart Capital Academy™?+
The Smart Capital Academy™ (SCA™) is CRDI™’s institutional capital readiness training programme. It teaches entrepreneurs and organisations how to develop bankable business plans, prepare feasibility studies, structure funding proposals, and present to investors. It currently offers four specialised tracks, with 1,500+ registrations committed.
What programme tracks are available?+
Four specialised tracks: Smart Capital for Capital Builders (foundation track for entrepreneurs and project sponsors); Smart Capital for Junior Miners (mining-sector capital readiness); Smart Capital for Medical Practitioners (healthcare entrepreneurs); and Smart Capital for Advisory Firms (professional development for advisory practices). The CIRA™ assessment recommends the most appropriate track for your profile.
Registration & Mandates
Who can register on the platform?+
Five institutional participant types can register: Project Sponsors (submit projects for capital pipeline intake), Capital Providers (register deployment mandates via the CPIL™ protocol), Advisors & Consultants (register advisory mandates and credentials), Institutional Investors (register investment mandates and appetite), and Project Access Partners™ (programme-scale aggregators such as IPAs and PPP units).
What is a Project Access Partner™ (PAP™)?+
A Project Access Partner™ is an institutional aggregator — an Investment Promotion Agency, Economic Development Agency, PPP Unit, Regional Development Agency, or Programme Management Office — that holds a government or development mandate to aggregate, curate, and mobilise capital into portfolios of strategic projects. PAP™ organisations access a dedicated nine-module workspace to manage portfolios of 1–500 projects, track government mandates, engage capital providers, and generate programme-level reporting.
What happens after I register?+
All registrations are reviewed by the CRDI™ intake team within 3 business days. You will receive an acknowledgement with your submission reference. Depending on your registration type, the next steps may include institutional accreditation, CRRI™ rating qualification, CRIS™ diagnostic assessment, or capital provider matching. CRDI™ may request additional documentation prior to platform onboarding.
What is the Founding Institutional Membership Programme?+
A limited cohort of Founding Institutional Members receive preferential pipeline positioning, dedicated CRIS™ diagnostic assessment, CPIL™ capital provider matching, and co-branding on CRDI™ institutional materials. Founding membership is subject to CRRI™ rating qualification and CRDI™ acceptance. You can express interest during registration.
Governance, Compliance & Trust
Is CRDI™ a financial intermediary or broker?+
No. CRDI™ operates strictly as infrastructure, never as a transaction participant. Under the Infrastructure Boundary Protocol™ (IBP™), CRDI™ does not act as a financial intermediary, broker, or advisor, and does not earn transaction-contingent or success fees. Revenue is access-based. CRDI™ provides the infrastructure within which institutional participants operate under their own mandates and statutory powers.
What governance standards does CRDI™ follow?+
CRDI™ natively embeds international standards including ISO 9001 (quality management), ISO 27001 (information security), and ISO 31000 (risk management). The platform operates a hardened, multi-layer security architecture with end-to-end encryption, zero-trust access controls, full audit trails, and transparent scoring logic across every institutional portal and data layer.
How is my data protected?+
All data is processed in accordance with POPIA and applicable data protection legislation, protected by ISO 27001-aligned data governance, end-to-end encryption, and zero-trust access controls. Personal and institutional data is never sold. Aggregated, anonymised intelligence may inform ecosystem analytics, but individual data is never exposed to third parties without explicit consent.
